This policy explains what Pixel Yourself (pixelyourself.art) collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: you can make and download an avatar without an account, and we never sell your data.
Pixel Yourself is run by Gianluca De Majo, an individual, under the name BlackHoleSon Productions. For anything about your data, write to blackholesonprod@gmail.com.
When you save an avatar we store the image, the name and description you give it, the creator name you type (optional), the date, and the "recipe" of parts and colors used to make it, so it can be remixed. Public avatars appear in the gallery. If you choose to save privately, the avatar is reachable only through its link.
Your browser keeps a random ID in local storage. It lets the site know which avatars are yours (the "Yours" view, deleting your own avatars) and stops the same browser from liking an avatar twice. We store only a scrambled (hashed) form of it with likes. It is not linked to your name, email or account, because there are no accounts.
Your draft avatar, your creator name, whether you have seen the privacy notice and a few display settings stay in your browser's local storage. They never reach our servers unless you save an avatar.
Vercel Analytics counts page visits in an aggregated way, without cookies and without identifying you. When something breaks, the page may send a technical error report (the error message, the page address and your browser type) to our hosting logs so we can fix it.
If you order a hand-made portrait, the order and payment go through Ko-fi, which has its own privacy policy. We receive the photo and notes you send, and use them only to draw your portrait. To speed up the work, the photo may be analysed with an AI tool by Anthropic; it is not used to train their models. We delete the photo within 7 days after delivery, unless you agree that we show it as an example.
The site itself sets no tracking cookies. What it keeps in your browser (the anonymous ID, your draft, a few settings) is needed for the site to work. Analytics and ads, as described above, work without cookies. If we ever add a service that uses cookies, it will wait for your consent first.
Saved avatars stay until you delete them or ask us to. Error logs are kept for a short time by our hosting provider. Portrait photos: see above.
If you are in the EU or the UK you can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, object to how it is used, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to blackholesonprod@gmail.com, and include the link of the avatar if your request is about one. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in Italy: the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
Pixel Yourself is not meant for children under 14. We do not knowingly collect their data.
